- Huawei will launch its first pop-up camera phone in India this month.
- The upcoming Huawei phone will be priced under Rs 20,000.
- Huawei may launch the P Smart Z in India.
Huawei will launch its first pop-up camera smartphone in India this month, industry sources have told India Today Tech. We have also learnt that the upcoming Huawei smartphone will be priced in the sub-Rs 20,000. While the name of the smartphone has not been revealed to us, it seems highly possible that we are looking at the Huawei P Smart Z, which is the company's first smartphone with a pop-up camera that went official in Italy back in May.
The upcoming Huawei smartphone will look to take on the likes of Realme X, which also brings a pop-up selfie camera under Rs 20,000. In fact, a lot of brands including Vivo and Xiaomi have launched affordable mid-range smartphones with a pop-up camera, and it only makes sense for Huawei to join the current trend.
As of now, the details surrounding the upcoming Huawei phone are slim, but industry sources have told us that the smartphone will launch by the end of July and will look to target millennials who are looking for the latest trends in smartphone technology.
Huawei currently has only one smartphone with a pop-up selfie camera, the Huawei P Smart Z. Unless the company has a new phone that it plans to launch for the first time in India, it seems that the P Smart Z will be coming to India, possibly under a different moniker.
To recall, the P Smart Z sports a 6.59-inch FHD+ LCD display and offers a 3D curved panel with a Pixel-like dual tone design. The P Smart Z is powered by a Kirin 710F chipset paired with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage with support for storage expandability up to 512GB.
The Huawei P Smart Z features a dual rear camera setup that consists of a 16MP primary camera and 2MP depth camera. The pop-up mechanism houses a 16MP selfie camera with AI features for both the front and back. The Huawei P Smart Z runs on Android Pie with EMUI 9.0 on top. The handset packs a 4,000mAh battery and supports a Type-C port.
