- The Nokia 6.2 will come with a waterdrop notch and face unlock.
- The Nokia 6.2 will also bring a Google Assitant button and Night Mode as per the teasers.
- HMD will announce the Nokia 6.2 and its price in India on Thursday, June 6.
On Thursday, June 6, HMD Global will be holding an event in Italy and one in India where the company will announce a brand new Nokia smartphone. From what rumours suggest, the company will launch the Nokia 6.2, but this will apparently . HMD has already teased features like Night Mode, Google Assistant button and new colour finishes. Now, a new teaser has been posted that clearly reveals that the Nokia 6.2 will come with a waterdrop notch along with face unlock support.
The latest teaser by HMD pretty much confirms that the upcoming Nokia phone will not come with a punch-hole display like the Nokia X71. Instead, the Nokia 6.2 will get a U-shaped notch similar to the Nokia 3.2 and Nokia 4.2. This would still be a significant upgrade in the display department compared to the Nokia 6.1 that offered a bezel-full display.
In addition to the waterdrop notch, the teaser also hints that the Nokia 6.2 will come with face unlock out-of-the-box. While this may not be a big talking point, it would still be an improvement over the Nokia 6.1 which did not ship with face unlock, although it was released via an OTA update.
Based on what we know so far, the Nokia 6.2 will pack a Snapdragon 632 chipset, which would be a marginal upgrade over the Snapdragon 630-powered Nokia 6.1. It should be offered with up to 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. It will certainly be an Android One device running stock Android Pie out of the box. As for its price in India, the Nokia 6.2 may cost around Rs 17,000, similar to its predecessor.
HMD will announce the Nokia 6.2 and possibly another phone on June 6 at an event in New Delhi that is scheduled to start at 11:30am.
