OnePlus 7 was announced alongside the OnePlus 7 Pro back in May; the hardware is certainly more of an iterative upgrade over the OnePlus 6T than a radical reimagining of the firm's flagship series like the 7 Pro.

OnePlus 7 comes with an incredibly similar design to the 6T, meaning the device flaunts a 6.41-inch display that has a teardrop-shaped notch at its top.

Moreover, the hardware also comes with a minimalist rear panel that is home to a dual camera system.

Unfortunately, the standard OnePlus 7 misses out on the 7 Pro's telephoto and ultra wide-angle sensors.

Instead, the phone comes with the same 48-megapixel main lens as its more premium brother but accompanies it with an additional 5-megapixel depth sensor that makes the phone more aware of its surroundings.

Although the OnePlus 7 looks incredibly similar to the 6T, its internals have been turbocharged.

Powering the Chinese handset is Qualcomm's latest and greatest Snapdragon 855 chipset that is accompanied by either 6GB or 8GB of RAM.

As is the case with all OnePlus phones, the 7 is frequently updated to bring new features, improvements and patches.

The spirited Chinese firm recently announced a new upgrade for the OnePlus 7 that brings Google's June Android security patch.

The June Android security patch is another vital one for the established operating system - the American company has stated the update includes fixes for a number of vulnerabilities it deems to be "critical" and "high" in severity.

The most notable of these was detailed by Google on its Android Security Bulletin to exist within the software's Media framework and could allow a malicious third-party to execute arbitrary code on a targeted device.

Although the American tech powerhouse was eager to declare it had not received any reports of exploitation of any new vulnerabilities, it is still vital Android fans obtain the June security patch as early as they can.

OnePlus has stated the fixes are included in OxygenOS 9.5.6 that has started rolling out for OnePlus 7 owners.

In addition to the patch, the Shenzhen-based OEM has insisted the upgrade also improved photo quality, audio quality and provides general bug fixes.
