[VIDEO] Hardik Pandya walks on crutches after surgery, Twitterati wishes him speedy recovery

Recovery wishes pour in for Hardik Pandya as Indian all-rounder was seen making progress by walking on crutches after successful surgery in the United Kingdom on Tuesday. Pandya had touched down London on October 2nd and was accompanied by Team India physiotherapist Yogesh Parmar for his surgery after it was learned that the Indian all-rounder has sustained an acute lower-back injury. Pandya was successfully operated on Friday and is on board to kickstart his rehabilitation.

The 25-year-old shared a glimpse of his recovery period with fans on social media. Pandya clubbed series of video through Instagram's Story feature - where he is seen taking his first steps in the post-surgery phase. On clutches, the Baroda all-rounder walked for the first time following his operation in London. In another video, Pandya was seen on a wheelchair while going back to the hotel.

The Indian all-rounder recently went under the knife due to an injury in his lower back which he initially sustained last year in September. Pandya was stretchered off during India's clash against arch-rivals Pakistan in the Asia Cup at the time. Pandya was quick to brave his back injury and made a startling return to the Indian squad ahead of the ICC World Cup 2019 hosted by England and Wales.

Following India's bittersweet campaign at the grandest stages of them all, Pandya was handed a month-long rest from international cricket and was not named in the 15-man squad for the Caribbean tour across all formats. However, Pandya marked his second return to the Indian side in the recently concluded T20I series against South Africa but his comeback was cut short due to back spasms.

The internet was simply amazed by Pandya's dedication and eagerness to return back to the Indian squad as the team is gearing up for the second Test against South Africa in the three-match series. Twitter was quick to support Hardik during the rehabilitation phase as fans of Team India wished him a speedy recovery.

Pandya had earlier expressed gratitude by sharing a heartfelt message in which he thanked his well-wishers. “Surgery done successfully. Extremely grateful to everyone for your wishes. Will be back in no time! Till then miss me,” Hardik said.
