Venkatesh is all set to star in another sports-based film! The star tasted success with Guru, which was directed by Sudha Kongara. It was the remake of her Tamil / Hindi hit movies Irudhi Suttru / Saala Khadoos. Around the time of the film’s release, reports emerged that even though the team got a big offer for the Telugu dubbing rights, Sudha was set on remaking the film in Telugu and urged producer Sashikanth to help her convince Venkatesh to play the lead role. It really paid off with Guru turning out to be a massive hit.
Well, now Venkatesh is gearing up for another sports drama that will be helmed by Tharun Bhascker. Reports are that this story will be set against the backdrop of the Hyderabad Race Course Club in Malakpet. It will not only be a sports drama but have a high amount of emotional quotient as well, we hear. Sources in the know say that Tharun had narrated the one-liner to Venkatesh recently and got his go-ahead to develop the script. Reports are that this project should be on the floors by this year-end.
In the meantime, Venkatesh is expecting the release of Venky Mama. The film should be out at the theatres on October 4. It is bankrolled jointly by Suresh Productions and Blue Planet Entertainment on a very big budget with Bobby aka KS Ravindra wielding the megaphone. Anup Rubens has been roped in to compose tunes for Venky Mama and Prasad Murella is cranking the camera. Raashi Khanna and Payal Rajput play the female leads in this flick and will be paired up with Naga Chaitanya and Venkatesh respectively.
There are big expectations on this film as it will bring together the real-life uncle Venkatesh and nephew Naga Chaitanya on the silver screen for the first time.
