New Delhi, Jagran Special. Mahendra Singh Dhoni has been one of the most successful captains of India, but do you know that Mahi took over the captaincy of the Indian team on this day in 2007. On 14 September 2007, Dhoni led the Indian team for the first time in the first season of the ICC T20 World Cup against Pakistan. In this match, Dhoni had created such a chakravyuh, which caused Pakistan to get upset.

Dhoni, who made his captaincy debut in 2007, later became one of India's most successful captains of T20, ODI and Test cricket. Not only this, he is the first such captain in the world who has won all three ICC tournaments to India. Under his captaincy, Dhoni has won the T20 World Cup, ODI World Cup and ICC Champions Trophy to the Indian team. No captain of the world has done this amazing.

Dhoni's captaincy debut match was canceled

Dhoni's captaincy debut was against Scotland on 13 September, but the match could not take place after the toss. In such a situation, on the next day i.e. on 14 September 2007, the Indian team landed under the captaincy of Dhoni for the first time against Pakistan and dusted Pakistan in a thrilling match. However, the match was a tie, as both teams scored 141–141 and then bowled out.

Team India, led by Dhoni, who lost the toss against Pakistan after Scotland, had to bat first. India scored 141 losing 9 wickets in 20 overs thanks to Robin Uthappa's half-century innings and Dhoni's 33-run innings. After this, the Pakistan team also came out to bat, losing only 7 wickets in 20 overs and scored 141 runs and the match was tied.

This was followed by a bowl out between the two countries, as according to the ICC rules at that time the process was that in the event of a match tie, players of both the countries would have to hit the wicket 5-5 times without a batsman. During this time, India was number one and then Dhoni created a chakravyuh in which Pakistan team got stuck on the ground of Durban.

Then Dhoni created the Chakravyuh

Dhoni, as captain, laid a trap in the first match which is still remembered till date. Among the five bowlers whom Dhoni chose for bowling out, the first shocking name was that of Virender Sehwag who bowled at that time. At number two was Harbhajan and at number three was Robin Uthappa, while at fourth was Irfan Pathan and then S Sreesanth.

Meanwhile, Pakistan captain Shoaib Malik chose Mohammad Asif, Umar Gul, Yasir Arafat, Sohail Tanvir and Shahid Afridi. In the bowling out, Virender Sehwag first hit his first ball from the stumps for India. This was followed by Yasir Arafat from Pakistan, who was unable to hit the stumps. Harbhajan Singh bowled the second ball from India and he also hit the stumps.

At the same time, even Umar Gul from Pakistan could not hit the wicket. Robin Uthappa, who came for the third round, hit the stumps with the ball and India took a 3–0 lead. On the other hand, Shahid Afridi bowled the third ball from Pakistan and he also missed the stumps and thus India won the Pakistan, which was the first victory under Dhoni's captaincy. Let us know that India also won this World Cup by defeating Pakistan.
