Xiaomi launched the Redmi K20 and the Redmi K20 Pro in India today. Alongside these two K series smartphones Xiaomi launched its third generations Mi A smartphone in Spain. It is the Mi A3 that the company has been teasing for a long time now. The Mi A3 is actually the rebranded Mi CC9e that Xiaomi launched in China couple of months ago. The only difference between the Mi A3 and the Mi CC9e is the software. The Mi CC9e runs Android 9 Pie with MIUI 10 on top while the Mi A3 - as expected - comes with Google Android One program. This means, no Ads.
The Xiaomi A3 is a much-upgraded version of the Mi A2 that launched last year. The Mi A3 is better than its predecessor in almost all aspects be it design, camera, hardware, among other things. As far as the specs are concerned the Mi A3 comes packed with a 6.088-inch OLED display that offers screen resolution of 1520x720 pixels. The screen of the smartphone is protected with a layer of Gorilla Glass 5 on top that makes the phone sturdy and prone to falls.
On the hardware front the Mi A3 goes hand in hand with the Mi CC9e. The Mi A3 Android One phone is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 processor that's clocked at 2.0 gigahertz. The Mi A3 comes with 4GB of RAM memory and 64GB and 128GB of internal storage. The good bit here is the Xiaomi Mi A3 also allows users to expand the storage even further via microSD card.
On the camera front the Mi A3 includes triple cameras on the back panel and single of the front that sits inside the Dot drop notch on the front. For selfies the Mi A3 brings a 32MP sensor on the front. On the rear panel the Mi A3 includes a primary 48MP sensor with an aperture size of f/1.79, secondary 8MP wide-angle camera sensor and third is a 2MP depth sensor. It is worth noting that the primary camera of the Mi A3 captures pictures in 12MP in default.
One of the really good bits about the Mi A3 in addition to the clean software is its big battery. The Mi A3 comes packed with a massive 4030mAh battery, so expect it to last for one full day in single charge very easily. It should be noted that the body of the Mi A3 is build of plastic or polycarbonate and not Gorilla Glass 5, unlike the Redmi Note 7 Pro.
Coming to the price, the Mi A3 is launched for a starting price of 249 euros that roughly translates to around Rs 19,000. This price is for the 6GB RAM / 64GB of internal storage. There's also a second model of the Mi A3 that comes packed with 6GB RAM and 128GB of internal storage and this variant of the phone comes for 279 Euros that translates to Rs 21,500. For now, there are no words whether the Mi A3 will come to India or not.
